No. Stagees has every now and then been compared to the legendary Guitar Hero (GH) which obviously was and still is a fantastic game. Although there may seem to be some similarities, Stagees is quite different. In GH the “underlying instrument” was naturally a Guitar, in Stagees it is closer to a Piano/(Keytar). GH was a pure rhythm game which required skill sets mainly in rhythm and developed hand-eye co-ordination and the game controllers associated to later versions of the game  had some sound “producing” functionality but were quite expensive and very hard to master. Stagees is an affordable, easy to use music playing platform which in addition to rhythm requires “feeling” the music and hence develops primarily hand-ear co-ordination supported by visual senses. To play (the) music “for real” (with Stagees or an instrument) has scientifically proven apparent health benefits and increases brain capacity.

The game controller plays and produces sounds for all instruments, therefore the design is a compromise between guitars, piano/keyboards, strings and brass. It can be used in a few ways, as guitar style ”hanging”, or piano style ”flat on the table” or even “violin” and “flute” style. Custom made controllers are also availale.

Yes, own midi songs can be imported to the platform. In this case Stagees can however not guarantee the sound quality of the songs or that all imported files work on the platform. There are a lot of sites that offer midifiles against payment or free of charge. 

All Midon game controllers have been made from recyclable environmental friendly material and the aim is to “save” 1 mio kg plastic waste from the ocean in the coming years by using alternative game controller materials. In addition, playing Stagees will enhance brain “connections” and improve health. 

Probably not, but users will definitely learn about music and how songs are being made, and using the platform will significantly help out and support many playing elements also in traditional instrument  playing. Learning to play an instrument requires skillsets in many areas, and Stagees offers a fantastic way for fast skill development in; 1) timing, 2) rhytm sense, 3) concentration, 4) roles of different instruments in a song, 5) accurate listening, 6) finger strenght, 7) hand independency, 8) understanding how different song part interact, 9) a “feel” for the tunes and hearing sounds, nevertheless most importantly 10) it is of great fun !
